More than just shipbuilding.
Commissioned by ‘Vorm’ and ‘Besix Red,’ we started the Sluishuis project in Amsterdam in 2019. A beautiful and, above all, massive project, in which we were awarded the role of main contractor and constructor for the water program.
Built for water enthusiasts.
Anyone driving into Amsterdam will soon see Sluishuis. It is an iconic building with luxury apartments and penthouses in the IJburg district, situated on the IJmeer. Surrounding the apartment complex is a 775-meter-long pier and promenade, which includes 34 berths for houseboats, some of these boats are also built by us.

“The entire water program is being realized by us in collaboration with Stienstra & Van Der Wal (S&W). The pier, constructed from steel pipes with girders, was assembled, blasted, and coated by us in Franeker. They were then transported by ship to Amsterdam, where S&W handles the assembly.
In addition to the 34 berths, there will also be mooring spots for the neighborhood residents’ sloops and sailboats, allowing them to fully enjoy the IJ at any time. Moreover, a recreational island and a solar panel island will be created, surrounded by a fender system to protect it from the waves.”
Versatile project.
In addition to building the water program and houseboats, we are also involved in creating the outdoor gardens and terraces around the apartment complex. A beautiful and versatile task for Talsma, which we work on with great pride and enjoyment!
