100% Electric Ferry
Sustainable.
Commissioned by the Municipality of Haarlemmermeer, we have developed a fully electric ferry. The ferry is equipped with a roof integrated with solar panels, which generate enough energy during the day for continuous operation without interruption. It only needs to be recharged at night.
The construction.
The construction of the new ferry was carried out in our workshop according to the highest technical standards. The design of the ferry was created by Van Oossanen Naval Architects B.V., while we handled the construction and technical installation. The ferry had to meet strict requirements for safety and sustainability.
Low-maintenance.
The electric propulsion system of the ferry is significantly more low-maintenance than a traditional diesel engine. Thanks to the simple mechanics of electric motors, there are fewer moving parts subject to wear, resulting in fewer maintenance sessions and lower operational costs.
